Summer Kick Off 2022

Summer Kick Off 2022

Winters can be tough. The kids just finished their first year of school. I just graduated and started a business. So I have decided we are gonna make this the best summer ever! And then I will get to spend every year after trying to make the next summer better lol. I am considering this first weekend in June our first official weekend of summer. It was a great start to Summer Kick Off and even included my favorite event of the year!

Friday

First we went to the pool! We have a membership to our local YMCA which is a three minute drive from our house. It is one of our favorite places to be. Legacy has her yellow band this year which lets her go down the big slide. The other kids weren’t exactly excited to take the swim test so they still have red bands. They are more than happy to play in the zero entry pool. Where there are spray fountains and dump buckets.

After the pool we went to the Park which is right next door. For the first movie in the park of the summer. They were showing Encanto, which we didn’t stay long enough to watch. We did however get to take advantage of the bounce house and giant slide. We snacked on our picnic blanket but before it got dark enough to watch the movie we were exhausted and headed home.

Saturday

Saturday was Kite Fest. Which is hands down my favorite event of the year. I know that sounds kind of silly but there is always so much to do and there are other kids there but the event isn’t crowded. Plus they always give out free snacks and drinks. The parks department where we live is fantastic. All the events we go to like the Movie in the park or the Campout are free, they even gave everyone free Chick fil a at the campout.

Our favorite activity at Kite fest is always the giant bubble station. Novella especially is obsessed with bubbles. They make her so happy, it’s pretty adorable. This year they also had the inflatable bounce house and slide. We made our own kites but unfortunately there wasn’t much wind for them to take flight. They also strapped on some paragliders and raced.

Prince

Prince went off for some Grandpa time at the Reds game. He is enrolled in an extended learning program at school. He misses his sisters while he is there but he has been crushing it there and having so much fun. The Reds game was a great extra treat for him and he has even been practicing his baseball skills.

PJ’s, Pizza and Ponies

Us girls went back to the pool to get some swimming in and then afterwards had a PJ’s, Pizza and Ponies Party! (My Little Ponies movie) You may notice the girls matching swimsuits. That’s not for style, it’s just much easier to spot your kids when they all are wearing the same thing lol.

Summer Kick Off Success

We packed a lot of activities into our Summer Kick Off weekend and I feel like I need 2 weeks worth of sleep to recoup. However we have lots of more plans coming up, so rest will have to wait!
