Virginia Vacation

Virginia Vacation

Our Virginia Vacation

My brother moved to Virginia about two years ago and I hadn’t had the opportunity to see him since then. Finally a few weeks ago we made the trip to go see him. This trip was extra special because not only did my kids get to see the ocean for the first time but Grandma and Grandpa Cappel brought along my nephew River who also had never seen the ocean before.

I didn’t take nearly as many pictures on our Virginia Vacation as I usually do. I got pretty caught up in enjoying all the moments during the trip but hopefully you enjoy the moments I was able to capture.

Day 1

We started our drive on day one and it poured down rain. We planned to picnic in Huntington, West Virginia and stretch our legs at St. Cloud Playground. The rain made it a little too wet for that but we did stop and eat some sandwiches in the car before driving a few more hours to Lewisburg where we stayed for the night.

Day 2

The second day of our trip we had a shorter drive but it still rained pretty hard which made our plans to stop by a beach a little harder. Instead we met up with my brother Quinton and his girlfriend for a picnic before checking in to our condo for the night. Our condo was really nice it was a two story condo with two bedrooms downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs. Both floors had their own kitchen and laundry area. Me and my four kids took the top half while my parents and my nephew had the downstairs. There were three outdoor pools and one indoor pool, mini golf and a ton more right on our resort. The only downside was we stayed in Williamsburg Virginia so we were a bit over an hour away from Virginia Beach but we didn’t mind that.

Day 3

We finally got some sunshine on day three which was perfect because that was our day to go to Water Country USA. I loveeee waterslides so this was something I was really looking forward to. The kids’ favorite part is always the wave pool but we were fortunate they were tall enough to go on almost all of the water slides there too. They have one water slide that is a huge tunnel that up to five people ride on at a time and it has a light show and plays music which was super cool and not something I had seen before.

Day 4

Next up was Virginia Beach even though it was a bit of a drive it was totally worth it to go and let the kids experience a real ocean. The weather was great so we really lucked out. My brother was off work so we got to spend another day with him at his favorite place in Virginia.

Day 5

Day 5 we found a beach closer to our resort in Jamestown. Jamestown Beach Event Park was about 10 minutes from where we were staying and was the perfect place to stop since the chance for rain was high. It was a freshwater beach and not the ocean but the water was pretty shallow which made it perfect for small kids to splash around in. Once it started raining we headed back to the hotel and then ended the night by having dinner with my brother and his Girlfriend at a restaurant called The Cove. The food was great there and it had a beautiful massive fountain in front of it. I am a sucker for good scenery.

Day Six

Day six we took some final pictures at the Resort and then started our drive home. We stopped for the night in Logan, West Virginia before we finished our journey back home.

Virginia Vacation

It was a little rainy during our trip but overall it went really well and we had so much fun. I love making new memories with my kids and exploring new places with them. Having my parents and nephew along for the trip was really the icing on the cake for this vacation. My nephew is so funny and was so excited to spend time with his cousins.
