February Fun 2023

February Fun 2023

February is always a busy month for us. All four of the kids birthdays fall on February 7th. We always have a small themed celebration. Go on an an adventure. Then each kid gets there own day of fun. That combined with other events throughout the month set us up for so much February fun!

Mario Party

For our themed celebration this year we settled on Mario. We kept it simple with Mario shirts and Mario decor. We painted Mario canvases and sticker story boards. Decorated cupcakes and played games.

Halo, Prince, Novella and Legacy Day

I like to take advantage of the kids yearly well check up visits and the doctors note that comes with it. I spend that day with who ever had an appointment that day. We go someplace fun and then I take them to get their favorite food. Its rare that I get to spend one on one time with them, so it is something that has become really special to us.

I took each of them to their appointment in the morning, dollar tree to pick out a few toys, Chuck e Cheese to play games and then a restaurant. Halo got taco bell, Prince got McDonald’s, Legacy pretzels at Auntie Anne’s and Novella got Mac and Cheese at KFC.

Birthday Fun

I always take them somewhere as a group to celebrate as well. We had intended to go to Defy but it was so busy there was a two hour wait to get in. Instead we headed over to Jumpzone. They had got some new inflatables since our last visit and I love that there isn’t a time limit to how long you can play.

Heartsgiving

If you know me, you know I love having themed parties with my kids. So I created what I like to call Home Holidays. Each month has at least one Home Holiday. February our Home Holiday was Heartsgiving. Heartsgiving is all about spreading love to others. We started the day by donating can goods to the St. Vincent de Paul food Pantry. Since I work at SVDP I took the kids in and they got to learn about a food pantry up close.

Next we came home and made cards for Soldiers overseas. This was a new discussion for us. We learned that people were dedicated time periods of there life to serve the country and protect us. Once we finished our cards we had a massive feast, like Thanksgiving but with a better selection. We of course ended with a dance party and snacks.

Princess Party

A friend of mine is the Kids Club Director at Five Seasons (NKY) and she throws some pretty fantastic themed parties! If you have kids definitely check out them out! We went to the Princess Party in February and the kids had so much fun they did not want to leave.

Library Events

Most of you know I am a big fan of the free library events. This month we made valentines boxes, took a still life painting class and watched Stellaluna performed by Playhouse in the Park. I was really impressed with the playhouse in the park performance, it was my first time seeing one of their plays and they did so good.
